    We regularly update this list of internships, but it is not exhaustive. We also include internships with deadlines that have passed to help you plan for next year. Please check weekly for additional internship opportunities throughout the year. Many 亚洲色图 create their own internships by reaching out to organizations they are interested in.     Architecture/Construction Management/Engineering/STEM

     12-week after-亚洲色图 program that gives 亚洲色图 a hands-on introduction to Architecture, Construction Management, and Engineering.  

    : The Apprenticeships in Science and Engineering (ASE) Program matches bright, motivated high 亚洲色图 亚洲色图 with professional scientists and engineers for eight-week, full-time summer internships. Students assist mentors with research and other activities, learning first-hand about science and engineering careers in the process. Interns attend two full-day conferences during the summer, gaining additional exposure to diverse careers in scientific and engineering fields, and developing skills that will serve them well in technical careers.  ASE is part of Saturday Academy, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.  of their incredible internship offerings.

    : Free Geek offers a variety of unpaid internships. All applicants need to be 16 or older. recycling/reuse drop off for electronic waste salvaging technology from the waste stream before it made its way into landfills. Over the years, we have added new Digital Inclusion programming to support education, free technology access, digital literacy, and workforce development shifting the focus and the way we define ourselves as an organization; though our reuse and recycling programs form the backbone of our work, by providing us with the refurbished devices we are able to put back into the community, our core goal is to function as a service provider whose offerings help narrow the digital divide. 

    Business

     For more than 30 years, the Rotary Club of Portland has provided the opportunity for high 亚洲色图 亚洲色图 to explore the challenges and opportunities of our free enterprise system and the dynamics of the business world through Enterprise Academy. This innovative weekend retreat allows 亚洲色图 to interact with successful business people and to participate in highly informative and enjoyable team projects. Application deadline is typically in March.

     Bank of America recognizes high 亚洲色图 亚洲色图 who lead and serve in their own communities and beyond. We connect Student Leaders to tools and resources to help make communities better. As a Student Leader, you will work as a paid intern at a local nonprofit for eight weeks; attend the week-long Student Leaders Summit in Washington, D.C.; develop leadership and career skills; connect with like-minded 亚洲色图 from your own community and across the country. Must be a current High School Junior or Senior. Application deadline is typically at the end of January. 

    Civics and Law

     seeks to provide high 亚洲色图 juniors with an opportunity to engage with and within Oregon’s legal and civic community. Students attending underserved 亚洲色图s, or who are members of historically underrepresented communities, are especially encouraged to apply. Students who are selected for the program work one-on-one with an attorney mentor over the course of the 亚洲色图 year. In the past, mentors have helped 亚洲色图 with college essays, taken 亚洲色图 to observe courtroom proceedings, and provided general networking assistance on topics of the 亚洲色图’ interests.  During the year, 亚洲色图 will attend events relating to law and civil rights. Past events have included discussions with legal practitioners on topics of criminal law, juvenile justice, mental health, and immigration, and interactive events with the Oregon Court of Appeals and the Oregon legislature. Students who complete the program are awarded a $500.00 stipend to be used to purchase a computer or college studies.

    Education

     spend a week leading 4th or 6th graders as a camp counselor at an overnight camp. Teach kids about the environment, lead activities, and role model appropriate social interactions. 

    Environment/Urban Planning

    • Outdoor Science Apprentice Instructor - Hancock Field Station and Pacific Marine Science Camp. Camp Counselor/Instructor. You will work with instructors to teach environmental education topics and eventually teach by yourself. Room and board plus pay is provided during the program.
    • :You’ll balance your time on the museum floor with training in communication, informal education, and leadership skills to give you the background you need to be a successful museum educator. In this position you must commit to working two 4-hour shifts per week for the summer session, or one 4-hour shift per week during the 亚洲色图 year session.
    • Feeling creative? Propose an internship. How? Send a letter of interest describing your goals—including your desired time commitment and a proposed schedule—along with your resume and internship application .

    Fire Fighter and Police Cadet

    :  Portland Metro Fire Camp for girls, ages 16-20. This 3 1/2 day camp is an opportunity to experience the unique aspects of being a firefighter. Work stations will include search and rescue, Jaws of Life operation, climbing the aerial ladder, fire hose operation and forcing doors. Young women will also learn about nutrition, physical fitness, interview skills, Emergency Medical Services and gain CPR certification.

    : For youth aged 16-20, the Police Cadet Program is designed to offer young men and women firsthand experience and training in the field of law enforcement while working individually or as a team to develop confidence and leadership skills that benefit any career choice. The Cadet program looks to achieve these goals through mentorship, classroom instruction, hands-on training, and experiences.

    As an HPV PEER Educator Intern (for ages 16-24), the focal point is on HPV, cancer prevention, and HPV vaccination through peer-to-peer education, specifically by working collaboratively with 亚洲色图-based health centers and local 亚洲色图s in the Portland Metropolitan area. Explore a career in the field of cardiology through a summer internship.The Knight Cardiovascular Institute Program gives high 亚洲色图 亚洲色图 a chance to explore careers in the field of cardiology, including treatment and prevention. This internship will provide hands-on exposure to real-world applications in cardiovascular medicine, allow 亚洲色图 to understand the complexities of the field, and foster a deeper appreciation for the critical role cardiovascular health plays in overall well-being.

    :The Ted R. Lilley Continuing Umbrella of Research Education (CURE) Intern Program is an 8 week summer research mentorship training program supported by the OHSU Knight Cancer Institute and the OHSU Center for Diversity and Inclusion. It is designed to offer research experiences to Portland area high 亚洲色图 亚洲色图 that excel academically and come from socially and economically disadvantaged background. The goals of this program are to give hands-on research experience, science exposure and to increase participation of underserved and minority 亚洲色图 in biomedical research and other health-related fields.

    Dangerous Decibels is the award winning, evidence-based public health program designed to reduce the incidence and prevalence of Noise-Induced Hearing Loss (NIHL) and tinnitus (ringing in the ears, which is an early indicator of hearing loss) by changing knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors.  A highly interactive educational program demonstrated to be effective for improving knowledge, attitudes and intended behaviors regarding sound exposure and appropriate use of hearing protective strategies in children and adults.

    The  is a ten-week program hosted by the Gibbs Laboratory to provide hands-on science education to high 亚洲色图 and college 亚洲色图 interested in careers in scientific research. The first summer of participation is a voluntary learning experience in which the interns learn a variety of wet bench laboratory skills such as cell culture, spectroscopy, fluorescence microscopy, macroscopic fluorescence imaging, immunostaining, organic synthesis, small molecule purification as well as antibody conjugation and purification strategies. Additionally, interns learn about data analysis and processing and can learn about programming, especially in the area of image analysis. Interns who complete the ten-week program may be eligible to return the following year to participate in a paid internship program that would also provide additional experience. To apply, send a cover letter expressing your reason for interest in the program as well as your C.V. to Dr. Summer Gibbs. The deadline for applications is March 15.

    The gives Oregon high 亚洲色图 亚洲色图 a chance to explore careers in cancer research, treatment and prevention. Programs occur in the student’s home community and at the Knight Cancer Institute in Portland, Oregon. Virtual sessions throughout the 亚洲色图 year prepare 亚洲色图 for in-person internships during the summer. The program is part of a national effort to increase diversity in cancer professions. Students from underrepresented communities, including 亚洲色图 of diverse races and ethnicities and 亚洲色图 from rural areas are encouraged to apply.     artnership for Scientific Inquiry (PSI) Program is a unique 16-week course followed by an opportunity for a summer internship, designed to introduce high 亚洲色图 亚洲色图 in Oregon and the Portland metro area to biomedical research, with a special emphasis on supporting underrepresented minorities and 亚洲色图 from disadvantaged backgrounds. Through a combination of lectures from diverse researchers, one-on-one mentorship, hands-on experiences, and structured assignments, 亚洲色图 gain an in-depth understanding of scientific research and inquiry.

    The program covers various aspects of biomedical research, including learning to critically read research articles, preparing oral presentations, writing research proposals, and exploring different research methodologies. Beyond the classroom, 亚洲色图 have the opportunity to participate in a summer research internship, where they work alongside experienced mentors to apply their skills in a real laboratory setting. Our goal is to provide an accessible and inclusive pathway for all 亚洲色图 to explore scientific careers. 

    The OHSU  provides interns with practical research experience in the fields of dental and oral health. This program is designed to support high 亚洲色图 亚洲色图, undergraduates, and those matriculating into the OHSU Dentistry program, offering them valuable opportunities to engage in research activities. Our goal is to establish clear pathways to careers in dental, oral, and craniofacial research, fostering the next generation of researchers in these critical areas.

    Our mission is to foster sustained interest and engagement of underrepresented minority 亚洲色图 in STEM-related activities, and ultimately success in STEM-related careers. STEMPrep is a full-time 8-week summer internship for 11th and 12th graders and 10 weeks for college 亚洲色图.  Trainees are paired with a research and clinical mentor. They are given hands-on research experience and participate in didactic sessions and a computational boot camp.  In addition, the 亚洲色图 are treated to a variety of fun weekend excursions in and around the Portland metro area.

     OHSU (SIP) will be hybrid (some in-person and some virtual activities). SIP is an eight-week long summer internship that provides opportunities for high 亚洲色图 or early college age 亚洲色图 to gain experience in the disability field, develop transferable skills, and learn about various career paths in health care. Interns will participate 24 hours per week in group activities and on a project at one of the Institute on Development and Disability centers, gaining experience in research, education, training, and dissemination. This internship is designed for 亚洲色图 who are interested in pursuing a career in health care, specifically with a focus on disability. Interns will receive a stipend.

Join Studio Justice's "Roots & Threads" class to learn about apparel design from leaders in our community. Jocelyn Rice of Black Earth United, will introduce you to the design process, from concept to creation. With a virtual showcase at the end! Classes are being held both virtually and in-person to give 亚洲色图 the chance to learn and create in a hands-on environment. During this 6-week class, 亚洲色图 will learn about:

    TurnUp Activism is a non-profit organization dedicated to strengthening our democracy through increasing youth civic engagement. We have registered 400,000 young voters since 2019. Volunteer interns work (5-30 hours a week, you choose) in remote teams of mission-driven young people from around the country to help amplify youth civic engagement and participate in activism on many issues that you care about.
