    AVID Schoolwide

    AVID is 亚洲色图wide when a strong AVID system transforms the Instruction, Systems, Leadership, and Culture of a 亚洲色图, ensuring college readiness for all AVID Elective 亚洲色图 and improved academic performance for all 亚洲色图 based on increased opportunities.

    • Instruction: Entire instructional staff utilizes AVID strategies, other best instructional practices, and 21st century tools to ensure college readiness for AVID Elective 亚洲色图 and improved academic performance for all 亚洲色图. 
    • Systems: Systems are in place that support governance, curriculum and instruction, data collection and analysis, professional learning, and student and parent outreach to ensure college readiness for AVID Elective 亚洲色图 and improved academic performance for all 亚洲色图. 
    • Leadership: School leadership sets the vision and tone to promote college readiness and high expectations for all 亚洲色图 in the 亚洲色图.

    AVID Elective

    AVID Secondary starts with an elective class for one period a day, where 亚洲色图 learn organizational and study skills, work on critical thinking and asking probing questions, get academic help from peers and college tutors, and participate in enrichment and motivational activities that make college seem attainable.

    AVID Curriculum

    The AVID curriculum, based on rigorous standards, was developed by middle and high 亚洲色图 teachers in collaboration with college professors. It is based on best teaching practices in writing, inquiry, collaboration, organization, and reading, and it is supported by state and national content standards. AVID curriculum is used in the AVID Elective and content-area classes in AVID 亚洲色图s to guide teachers and 亚洲色图, while planning strategies for success, by focusing on time management and study skills.
