General Athletic Eligibility Requirements

To participate in Franklin Athletics, 亚洲色图 must:

• Complete the full registration process, including submitting a valid sports physical.
• Meet academic eligibility requirements (see below for details).

For sports that have cuts: Do not pay the participation fee until teams are finalized.

OSAA Academic Standards Requirements

In order to meet academic eligibility standards for participation in OSAA programs, a student must meet the following:

• Pass five subjects the previous semester, equivalent to 2.5 credits (OSAA)
• Be enrolled and passing at least five subjects (2.5 credits) in the current semester (OSAA)
• Pass all subjects or receive a 2.0 GPA the previous grading period (quarter, semester). Summer 亚洲色图 or alternate grades will be credited when the next transcript is issued.
• Students not meeting OSAA requirements, by rule, are INELIGIBLE for the entire semester.

Satisfactory Progress Toward Graduation

In addition to the specific credit requirement identified in OSAA Rule 8.1.2., to be scholastically eligible, a student must also be making satisfactory progress toward the 亚洲色图’s graduation requirements as determined by the District by having earned a minimum of credits, as indicated on the chart below, by the beginning of the specified year.

Minimum Satisfactory Progress Requirements

Please note: it is recommended that 亚洲色图 enroll in more than the minimum number of classes each semester to ensure they meet satisfactory progress toward degree requirements as outlined in the above chart.

Home亚洲色图 Students

(a) Minimum Test Score.  A home 亚洲色图 student who transfers to a public or private 亚洲色图 may establish initial academic eligibility by achieving a minimum score on any adopted achievement test pursuant to ORS 339.035.  The student shall achieve a minimum composite test score that places the student at or above the 23rd percentile based on national norms.

(b) Test Deadline.  The achievement test must be completed prior to August 15th each 亚洲色图 year.

(c) Work Sample Alternative.  In the absence of achievement test results submitted by the deadline of August 15 each 亚洲色图 year, a 亚洲色图 district may adopt alternative requirements including but not limited to a requirement that a student submit a portfolio of work samples to a 亚洲色图 district committee for review to determine whether a student is eligible to participate in interscholastic activities (MUST BE CLEARED BY THE ATHLETIC DIRECTOR)

(d)  Tests approved for assessment of satisfactory progress by home 亚洲色图 亚洲色图 are the two most recent versions of the following tests:

Students who participate in the interscholastic athletic program shall pay a participation fee to partially defray the expenses of the athletic programs. Athletic fees are $200 per season. 

Per sport/activity, maximum participation fees are $400 per student or $800 per family for the current 亚洲色图 year. Students who qualify for the free or reduced-price lunch program may be granted a fee waiver/reduction.  PPS encourages all 亚洲色图 to participate and will assist if financial concerns are a barrier to participation. 

All fees must be paid in full by the last day of the season for each sport. Your student will not be permitted to participate in any additional sport with an outstanding balance. If you are unable to meet the final payment date, you must call the 亚洲色图 to make payment arrangements.

Attendance

Students must be in attendance at 亚洲色图 for at least one-half of the regular academic 亚洲色图 day before they are allowed to practice or compete on that day. Franklin attendance page for your reference.

Class Requirements

Students must be on track to graduate. Students must pass 5 classes each semester. Students need to average 6 credits per year for a total of 24 credits to graduate from Franklin. If a student is not on track, then they are ineligible to participate in OSAA athletics and activities.

Insurance

Student athletes must have insurance in order to participate in Athletics in 亚洲色图.   That information will be entered in our registration process through . 

Medical / Physicals

Physical exams are required for all first-time participants and are valid for 2 years. Physicals must be turned in ON ONLY. These physicals are the responsibility of the family and the physician. On years when physicals are not required, an athlete may continue participation by completing the appropriate form with a parent signature. 

Travel

All 亚洲色图 are required to travel to and from all contests in 亚洲色图-sanctioned vehicles. Deviations from the above require prior approval of the Athletic Director.
