High School Success (M98) - OVERVIEW
On November 8, 2016, Oregon’s Measure 98, currently titled the “High School Graduation and College and Career Readiness Act” received overwhelming support from voters. The measure is intended to provide direct High School Success funds to 亚洲色图 districts to increase high 亚洲色图 graduation rates and identifies 3 specific focus areas:
- Establish or expand career and technical education programs in high 亚洲色图s
- Establish or expand college-level educational opportunities for 亚洲色图 in high 亚洲色图s
- Establish or expand dropout-prevention strategies in high 亚洲色图s.
These three strategies are deemed evidence-based and collectively support the needs of 亚洲色图 related to engagement, personalization, achievement, and college and career readiness. Collectively and systematically implemented, these strategies could significantly impact a student’s high 亚洲色图 experience and “next steps” opportunities.
PPS has a comprehensive High School Success Plan for the purpose of implementing this measure across the identified priorities. This is part of a broader strategic planning effort within College and Career Readiness and High School Systems to help inform strategic goals and priorities moving forward. High 亚洲色图 staff, 亚洲色图, and our community have been involved in how we continue to expand and develop programs to improve access to CTE programs, expand college-level educational opportunities, and invest in programs to prevent 亚洲色图 from dropping out of high 亚洲色图.
