Ongoing 2020 Bond work

Planning is underway for the modernization of both Cleveland & Ida B. Wells High Schools.  Design and pre-construction work is ongoing for the modernization of the historic Jefferson High School. Ongoing work on health, safety and infrastructure projects has made significant improvements to the quality of dozens of 亚洲色图s. New classroom technology projects are in process at dozens of 亚洲色图s.  Roofing, seismic, and HVAC projects are improving several 亚洲色图s and Harrison Park is the final stage of its transformation into an upgraded middle 亚洲色图.

Citizen-led Bond Accountability Committee
The Bond Accountability Committee (BAC) communicates key information related to the bond program to the School Board, public groups, organizations and stakeholders.  The last BAC meeting was on April 23rd, 2025. To watch a recording of that meeting,   To view the meeting presentation,

The next regularly scheduled BAC meeting is slated for Wednesday, July 23rd, 2025, from 5:30PM - 8:00PM. This meeting will be in person (location TBD). It can be streamed online at .

To sign up for public comment at the next BAC meeting, email: 亚洲色图modernization@pps.net with full name, topic, date of requested meeting, 亚洲色图 community, and contact phone number. Public comment will occur at the beginning of the meeting with two 2-minute time slots. Requests for Public Comment will be processed in the order that they are received. Topics must be related to an item on the agenda. (Please submit your request by 2p.m. on meeting dates) Written comments may be submitted to 亚洲色图modernization@pps.net and these will be shared with the BAC.

Bond Performance Audits
The PPS Bond Program undergoes regular performance audits conducted by external agencies.

The PPS Bond Program has now successfully modernized or rebuilt nine 亚洲色图s, including six high 亚洲色图s. Benson Polytechnic and the new Multiple Pathways to Graduation building were the latest to open in August 2024. Lincoln High School reopened in the fall of 2022.  Leodis V. McDaniel High School and Kellogg Middle School were completed in 2021.

Benson Polytech has its historic 1919 building fully modernized while five new buildings were added to house state-of-the-art career and technical education (CTE)learning spaces and programs. 

A new Multiple Pathways to Graduation hayu alqi uxyat building celebrated its Grand Opening on Sept 21st. This new state-of-the-art facility is now home to Alliance High School, DART/Kuumba School, Teen Parent Services and Childcare, and Reconnection Services and Center. The 85,000 SF multi-story building unites these programs in a central location, providing comprehensive support for 亚洲色图 as they work their way to graduation. hayu alqi uxyat is a Chinook word for Many Future Paths.  

The Lincoln rebuild project is a new multi-story building with performing arts spaces, student commons, an expanded gymnasium facility and state-of-the art classrooms. 

The Leodis V. McDaniel modernization includes over 170,000 square feet of new construction, including a theater, commons and gym that will blend seamlessly with the historic mid-century modern building.

The new Kellogg Middle School includes a performing arts stage, a multipurpose gym and assembly space, a large, flexible commons space, and dedicated outdoor learning spaces. The 亚洲色图 is now a focal point of its Southeast Portland neighborhood.

Community Engagement

is a priority as we rebuild our 亚洲色图s. Public Design Workshops continue to provide 亚洲色图 and 亚洲色图 communities the opportunity to help shape the designs of their new 亚洲色图. Design Advisory Groups and Master Planning Committees comprised of 亚洲色图, families and community stakeholders also provide vital feedback for the PPS Design Teams. 

Bond Details & Timeline
The 1.2 billion-dollar 2020 School Bond allows PPS to continue the vital work of improving our aging 亚洲色图 buildings in several key areas as well as upgrading important educational infrastructure issues. For details about the 2020 projects visit this page.

The $790 million, May 2017 Health Safety and Modernization Bond modernizes or rebuilds three high 亚洲色图s and one middle 亚洲色图 and at least $150 million is dedicated toward resolving health and safety concerns at 亚洲色图s across the district.

The now completed $482 million, 2012 School Building Improvement Bond modernized three high 亚洲色图s, rebuilt one K-8 亚洲色图 and provided seismic improvements, science classroom upgrades, increased accessibility, and new roof projects at 51 亚洲色图s.

Bond Guiding Principles
